The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Forensic Psychologist at Georgia Regional Hospital At Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information). Note: 2 positions available.
Job Description:
Conduct court-ordered evaluations on adults
and/or juveniles and provide opinions regarding
competency to stand trial and/or criminal
responsibility. In inpatient units, they may
serve as a member of the multidisciplinary
treatment team, conduct risk assessments, and
make appropriate recommendations regarding
treatment and discharge planning for individuals
found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and
Incompetent to Stand Trial. Forensic
Psychologists are called to testify as expert
witnesses on pretrial and inpatient cases.
Entry Qualifications
A current Georgia license to practice psychology
(license may be temporary, provisional, or
permanent).
Must obtain the Relational, Conceptual, Technical, and Advanced Technical levels of MANDT certification by completion of new employee orientation, and must maintain this certification as a term and condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates, who in
addition to meeting the qualifications listed
above, possess the following:
Supervised training or experience in Forensic
Psychology, competency to stand trial and
criminal responsibility evaluations for the
court system, and in psychotherapeutic
intervention (some positions) with populations
with criminal justice involvement. Ph.D. in
Psychology. Current Georgia license in
Psychology. Experience in Forensic evaluations
of adults and/or children and adolescents. Valid
GA Driver’s License.
