POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY
Lubbock Regional Mental Health Mental Retardation (MHMR) Center, in collaboration with Texas Tech University (TTU), offers two postdoctoral fellowship positions in forensic psychology beginning September 1, 2012. Postdoctoral fellows will receive training in and provide: pretrial criminal evaluations, to include court-ordered competency to stand trial and mental state at the time of the offense evaluations; competency restoration services; expert testimony; psycholegal research; supervision of practicum students from the APA-accredited doctoral programs in clinical and counseling psychology at TTU; and risk assessments in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit. Fellows will attend a minimum of two law courses related to forensic psychology in the TTU School of Law, with opportunities to teach Forensic Psychology (senior-level undergraduate course) and appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at TTU. A seminar series including review of relevant case law is also provided. Applicants should have a PhD or PsyD in clinical/counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program and have completed an APA-approved predoctoral internship. Prior background in forensic psychology is strongly preferred. Salary is $36,000 for the fellowship year and includes excellent employee benefits. This position is an unclassified 12-month appointment. Drug screen and criminal background check applicable.
