Behavioral Medicine Practitioner/Forensic Examiner
(Up to $94,315 annually)
Minnesota State Operated Forensic Services is
seeking qualified applicants for forensic examiner
positions. The facility is located in St. Peter,
Minnesota, approximately 60 miles south of the Twin
Cities. Job responsibilities include examinations of
competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility,
and court-ordered civil commitment and risk
assessments of sex offenders and individuals being
committed as Mentally Ill and Dangerous. Evaluations
are conducted with patients residing in the
Minnesota Security Hospital, Minnesota Sex Offender
Program, Forensic Transition Services, and for the
outpatient statewide forensic network. Expert
testimony is often required. Forensic examiners are
not involved in providing treatment services.
Qualifications: Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.)
in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program.
Licensed or license eligible in the State of
Minnesota as a Psychologist is required. Completion
of a postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology
with competence and experience in testifying and
completing court-ordered evaluations, or
considerable forensic experience is required.
Knowledge of mental health case law is preferred.
