An experienced professional in the field of forensic assessment is needed to lead the assessment unit at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP), which coordinates and conducts all assessments (psychological and physiological) as well as risk assessments and sex offender assessments.  The Assessment Director will also act as a specialized technical consultant to the clinical department and supervise training programs for psychology students, interns, or postdoctoral fellows.

 MSOP is a state-of-the-art facility and program led by seasoned professionals dedicated to their work for the comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of civilly committed sexual offenders.  The MSOP treatment design integrates clinical, vocational, therapeutic recreation, education, and security throughout all phases of treatment toward the ultimate goal of successful reintegration.  

Job Description:
Provide direction, supervision, and oversight to the assessment unit.  Ensure the competency and quality of the work done by department staff in accordance with all practice standards established by the MN Board of Psychology and the American Psychological Association (APA).  Ensure that MSOP is utilizing assessments in the area of sex offender treatment in a manner consistent with applicable standards of care.  Provide expert testimony at Supreme Court Appeals Panel (SCAP) or legislative hearings on matters related to risk assessment and determination.

Qualifications: 
Applicants must have a doctorate in clinical psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) and be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Minnesota. Requires at least two years of professional experience conducting assessments on a forensic population.  Applicants must also have experience providing direct supervision of psychologists in addition to competency in the administration and interpretation of testing instruments utilized with sexual offenders.
