Carolina Dept. of Mental Health has an opening for a
forensic psychologist who will plan, direct and
coordinate professional psychological services for
the high profile Sexually Violent Predator Treatment
Program. Duties will include evaluating each civilly
committed SVPTP resident annually, preparing a
written Annual Treatment Review Summary (ATRS) for
each resident and testifying at ATRS hearings when

issues. The position has limited supervision and is
part of the Forensic Evaluation Service, which has a
collegial atmosphere and low staff turnover. The job

mild winters, a relatively low cost of living, the
University of South Carolina, and a metropolitan
population of about 500,000. Applicants must have a
doctorate in psychology from a fully accredited
program, successfully completed a fully accredited
internship, and be licensed (or license-eligible
with license obtained by the end of the first year

and treatment as well as a thorough knowledge and
understanding of the most recent scientific and
professional literature and techniques available in
the evaluation and treatment of sex offenders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
are also necessary. The salary is commensurate with
experience and the position includes a generous
state employee benefits package. Interested parties
