The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR), a state operated secure behavioral treatment center providing specialized treatment programs for civilly committed sex offenders is actively recruiting for a Forensic Psychologist. This position will conduct annual evaluations and risk assessments to determine if residents continue to meet criteria for civil commitment or instead could be managed safely in the community, and testify at court hearings regarding this issue. The Forensic Psychologist will also be able to provide some treatment to residents and promote the organizational objective of the psychology department via the provision of quality psychological evaluation, assessment, and treatment services, in collaboration with other disciplines, thereby fostering adaptive functioning and improving the welfare of individuals served.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications: Virginia Clinical Psychologist License preferred or licensure in another state eligible for transfer to Virginia as a Clinical Psychologist preferred; Graduate of APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Efficient in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to develop and present professional curricula is required. Previous experience with psychological assessment, especially in forensic contexts preferred. Bilingual applicants is a plus.
Salary: $40,959 - $84,062
