Post-doctoral fellowship in forensic clinical psychology
specializing in the evaluation and treatment of sex offenders  

The Washington Institute for Mental Health Research and Training of the University of Washington and The Washington Special Commitment Center invite applications for a one-year, postdoctoral fellowship in forensic clinical psychology with a specialty emphasis on the evaluation and treatment of civilly committed sex offenders. Training opportunities will include:

  1.  Pre-trial and annual review evaluations of sex offenders committed to Washington State’s Special Commitment Center
  2. Inpatient individual and group treatment of sex offenders
  3. One hundred hours of didactic training in forensic clinical psychology through weekly 3-hour seminars and,
  4. Forensic clinical research on such topics as sexual sadism.  

The stipend for this post-doctoral fellowship is $3084 per month ($37,008 per year) with generous benefits such as 30 days paid leave, and medical and dental benefits comparable to those of University of Washington faculty. The successful candidate will hold a doctorate degree from an APA approved doctoral program with an APA approved internship. Past forensic training in graduate school or on internship is desirable but not required.  Application deadline is January 31.
