CLINICAL/COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY- SUBSTANCE ABUSE
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
APPOINTMENT: August 16, 2012
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: PhD, PsyD, or ABD in clinical or counseling psychology or related field, with experience and interest in substance abuse assessment, research, and treatment. License or certification eligible in substance abuse treatment with willingness to pursue such licensure or certification. Significant relevant professional experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Specific teaching in substance abuse assessment and treatment; certification or licensure in addiction treatment
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach undergraduate substance abuse courses and oversee the substance abuse curriculum within the undergraduate psychology major, and work toward acquiring program certification. Also teach other undergraduate and graduate courses in area(s) of expertise. Research/scholarly and service activities expected of all faculty

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Psychology has 28 faculty, approximately 400 majors and 60 graduate students in Masters (General Experimental and Clinical/Community Mental Health) and Specialist (School) programs. The department also houses Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Neuroscience and Gerontology minors, and has a 6-course CADC training sequence. WIU's librarians answer approximately 10,000 research questions per year. The library system encompasses the main Malpass Library and four branch libraries. The Physical Sciences Library, the Music Library, the Curriculum Library, and the Quad Cities campus library are integral parts of the University's system that provides full service to students, faculty, and staff.
