Forensic Psychologist

The St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center - Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP) has openings for the position of Associate Psychologist (Salary Grade: SG-23 $61,963 - $76,101). The SOTP is an 80 bed inpatient facility for sex offenders confined for treatment due to their being ruled by the State of New York to be a dangerous sex offender requiring civil confinement in a secure treatment facility. The SOTP is a comprehensive treatment program and serves residents with multiple psychiatric and psychosexual disorders. The program uses a multidisiplinary clinical team model. The duties of an Associate Psychologist include the development and implementation of comprehensive treatment plans, group psychotherapy, and psychological evaluations, including psychological and psycho-physiological assessment measures. To qualify for this position, you must have received your doctoral degree in psychology; and have completed a one-year, full-time clinical internship or traineeship, or one year of psychology experience in a clinical setting, under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist. St Lawrence Psychiatric Center is located in Ogdensburg, NY on the banks of the St. Lawrence River just 30 minutes from the Thousand Islands, and 50 minutes from Ottawa, Canada. Several private and state colleges are located in the area including Clarkson University and the State University of New York at Potsdam. Ogdensburg is also in close proximity to the Adirondack Mountains which provide multiple opportunities for winter and summer outdoor recreational activities.
