Instructions for Logging on to the AP-LS Member Page
1.
The AP-LS Member log-in is only available to MEMBERS
of AP-LS. This includes APA members,
members-at-large (i.e., members of AP-LS who do not
belong to APA), and student members. If you are not
a member of AP-LS, but are interested in joining,
please go to
http://www.ap-ls.org/about/membershipIndex.html
for information.
2. Members who are up-to-date in payment of annual dues (or not excessively out-of-date) should go to the login page (http://www.ap-ls.org/myaccount/userInfo.php) and enter their username and password.
3. Usernames are your email address. Note that your email address MAY have changed since you last updated your information with AP-LS. If you are not able to log in, please try and use any OLD email addresses that AP-LS may have on file (e.g., from when you initially joined the organization). If we do NOT have an email address on file, your default username will be the first 10 characters of your last name followed by your first name. For example, the default username for Robert Jones would be JonesRober. If there are fewer than 10 characters in your name, then use only the characters that you have (i.e., Jim Smith would be SmithJim). Note that this username method is ONLY for those members who did not have an email address on file at the time the electronic database was created. All others will use their email address.
4. For members living in the U.S., the default password has been set as your zip code. Again, the zip code we have used is the one that AP-LS had in our records at the time the database was created. If you have moved, or your zip code has changed, we have no way of knowing that. If you are unsure of the zip code, check the LATEST issue of the newsletter that you have received. In all likelihood, this will be the zip code used for your password. For non-U.S. members, your default password will be the first 5 letters of your last name.
5. Once you have logged on, you will be able to go to the “General Information” and the “People Search Status/Membership classification pages (see buttons on right hand side of the screen) and update any information that is out of date. If you are willing, please make sure that your email address is correct, and that you complete information about your gender, race, degree and specialty area within psychology. This information will be used for research purposes (e.g., when members want to survey professionals within certain parameters, such as Hispanic women social/forensic psychologists).
6. If you continue to experience difficulties, after trying ALL possible username and password combinations, please email the administrator at administrator@ap-ls.org.
